In this one-day practical workshop, participating teachers will gain an understanding of the important elements of performance for the Character Dances in Grades 4 & 5. Learning activities will focus on the development of correct technique through the progression of character vocabulary, differences in music and style for each grade, and ways of encouraging learners to develop accuracy in performing rhythmic content and musical phrasing.

• Boost participants’ confidence in teaching the Character work in the RAD’s Grades 4 & 5 syllabus
• Enhance knowledge and understanding of technique, style and musicality appropriate to each level
