Focus on Class Awards (Webinar)

This webinar, developed and delivered by Jennifer Hale, Chief Examiner will focus on the Class Award assessment format in detail to give RAD teachers guidance regarding how to prepare and present their students for this type of assessment. By looking at what a Class Award is, what work is presented, and how the marks are awarded, teachers will also gain a better understanding of when a Class Award might be an appropriate option for their students.

Jenny completed her vocational training at the College of the Royal Academy of Dance, London. After graduating, she worked as a freelance ballet teacher for several schools in the greater London area including the Dance School at the RAD HQ and continues to teach recreational dance students of all ages. She is currently on the faculty at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, Hertfordshire where she coaches the RAD vocational syllabus up to Solo Seal.

Jenny was appointed to the RAD Panel of Examiners in 2006 and became a Solo Seal Examiner and Standardization Examiner in 2016. In September 2017 she was appointed as Chief Examiner. Her role as Chief Examiner primarily involves the recruitment, training and standardization of the Panel of examiners worldwide and she also works closely with the CPD and Artistic departments in the development of resources for teachers.

She has tutored for the RAD on various Faculty of Education programs including the CBTS, PDTD and LRAD and has worked with teachers internationally through her role as a CPD tutor.
