Luke Rittner to Retire

Luke Rittner became Chief Executive of the Royal Academy of Dance in 1999, having led the organization for more than 21 years, he will retire once the move to and the formal opening of  the Academy’s brand new global home is complete.

Under his leadership the Academy has become one of the world’s most influential dance education and training organizations, with a mission to inspire the world to dance. Luke holds an Honorary Doctorate of the Arts from the University of Bath and an Honorary Doctorate of Civil Law from the University of Durham and he was awarded a CBE for services to the arts, particularly dance, in the 2017 New Year’s Honours List.

The Board of Trustees of the RAD now begin the search to appoint an outstanding Chief Executive to succeed Luke and build on the Academy’s success as it moves into its second century.
