Lucky charms

We asked the 2019 competition candidates what lucky charms they will bring to the competition.

‘I have many lucky charms. On every tutu or other ballet costume my Mum stitches a lucky charm on the costume which relates to the variation or dance. It is a little acknowledgement to the variation and it reminds me of all the people that have helped me with that dance.’ – Primrose Kern, Australia

‘I have a small green mouse. My Mom bought it for me in Paris when she was pregnant with me. “Paris” has been to every competition I have done over the years. He is very special to me and a reminder of the support from my Mom.’ – Amber Mitchell-Knight, Australia

‘I have a hair scrunchie that was given to me by one of my good friends when I did gymnastics. I used to wear it to gymnastics practice and said it was my good luck scrunchie as I always had a good practice while wearing it. This lucky scrunchie has continued to provide me with luck in the dance studio and will be travelling with me to the competition.’ – Alyssa Churchill, Canada
